Even when you’re surrounded by the best views in the country, being outside 24/7 isn’t for everyone. Beyond Glacier National Park’s sights are the rest of Flathead Valley’s attractions, some of the best of which can be seen right from your car. The drive between Lake Mary Ronan and Glacier National Park is about 90 minutes, but it certainly doesn’t feel that way when the entire route offers stunning views of the local landscape. Just a short walk from the lodge, Lake Mary Ronan State Park is a haven for outdoor enthusiasts.

  • Hiking Trails: Explore the easy 1.6-mile trail that winds through lush forests and offers stunning lake views.
  • Fishing: The lake is well-stocked with trout, perch and other species, making it a perfect spot for fishing. Get your license here.

2. Flathead Lake

The largest natural freshwater lake west of the Mississippi, Flathead Lake is a must-visit.
